A Collection of work from northern ontario artist JOHANNA WESTBY

From March 4th - June4th you can find work from talented local artist Johanna Westby on display at Pinchman's Cafe & Artisan Bakery in the South End of Sudbury.

This collection is a series of northern landscapes reflecting the changing seasons of Northern Ontario. Ranging from subdued monochromatic to high vibrance colour application and featuring energetic moving skies with soft, quiet places. Lines, gradation and colour tell the story of our land in the north.

All works are available for purchase, the only problem will be picking your favourite.


Johanna Westby is a visual artist from Sudbury who teaches in the School of Art & Design at Cambrian College. Her illustration employs bold contrasts, shapes and vivid colour to incite movement and visual interest. She is passionate about her creative work and how it impacts the community. Her work ranges from public art and children’s books to murals and original pieces. Colour is the most important consideration as it has the ability to breathe life into a piece to express the familiarity of Northern Ontario - the natural beauty of the land and the figure.
